Can my friends and family see me at the finish line?

  • In 2016 we introduced a new finishing area in the grounds of the former Dominican Church which is now the new Athy Community Library.
  • It will be on the opposite side of the river (West Side) to where the transition zone will be and it is very spacious and spectator friendly.
  • Bring the family and picnic and find a nice spot on the grass beside the River Barrow!

What will I be doing as a marshal?

  • Marshalling Roles are varied. You could be:
    • Directing athletes;
    • Helping at the start/finish
    • Providing information for spectators; or
    • Handing out the all-important medals.
  • You will be assigned to your role based on your level of experience and availability.
  • Marshalling also gives you one of the best seats in the house to enjoy the full race experience.

Do I need to pay to watch the race?

  • Absolutely not!
  • We welcome all spectators to cheer their friends and family on.
  • Your support really can make a difference to them!
